Fall is in Full Swing and there are a lot of fun, new looks out there. But how do we wear them? One of the best ways to incorporate at trend into your fashion world is to show it off with a brand new bag. Whether you are looking to splurge or just want an inexpensive tote to toss over your shoulder, there are a lot of styles to choose from this fall season. Let’s take a look!

Box It Up

Do you remember the 90s lunch box as a purse trend? It’s back, sort of. Boxy purses are in this fall but with a twist that is less kitsch and more elegance. The turn to creating a box as a structured bag is nothing new but this year there is lots of embellishment and texture. Think faux crocodile and patent leather, jewels and studs mixed with other heavy metals versus yesterday’s clear plastic or comic book characters. The decadence is all here and now and works as a replacement for your tired evening clutch.

Totes Structured

The tote bag is one of the most versatile handbags around. You can use it for errands, as a work bag, beach bag and as your everyday carryall. That doesn’t mean it can’t be stylish. This fall the tote moves towards a look that can only be described as a structured bucket bag. The bucket bags that were so hot last season have more restrained lines to them, making them easier to handle and polished looking. Whether it is an animal print, a monochromatic mix of leather and suede or done up in a color block, it is important to find a bag that mixes well with your daily style. That’s the key to keeping it around more than one season.

Fantastic Fringe

The fringe of boho-chic looks is sticking around another season. This time if it isn’t cascading off your booties, it is cascading down from your purse. Whether you are carrying a tote, bucket bag, hobo style or even a clutch there is no limit to the length the fringe can go to on the bag. In deep tones of navy, oxblood and mustard it is also enchanting in neutral beige and brown tones. Black is readily available and works best in small bags with long sections of fringe or concentrated tassels on a clutch bag.

Touch Me Textures

If nothing else, the biggest trend we will see this fall it is textures. Particularly bags draped in fur that beg to be touched. Sleek snakeskin is on many a structured ladylike handbag too. Going in the other direction there is quite a rock and roll, metal theme with bags bedecked in studs and full of sharp edges. Bags are big and bold this season and demand we take notice no matter what we decide to carry.
